On The 12th Day Of Christmas…

On The 12th Day Of Christmas…

Merry Christmas to all! For our 12th and final post of this series we are showing how we spent Christmas Day!

It was an amazing day with family — we had a picture-perfect snowfall, we gathered and opened gifts, we cooked, reminisced, shared stories, had many facetimes and phone calls with loved ones and stayed in our matching pajamas all day long.

We feel so incredibly blessed this holiday season for our family and the health of those closest to us! This year has forced us to simplify some things, take breaks and reflect — although it’s not what we imagined, it’s important to make the most of the time we are given and to appreciate all the small things in our lives!

We woke up to a perfectly white Christmas that inspired us to keep things light, bright and simple for our Christmas Day table!

The main piece of this table were these adorable soft white reindeer, with their scarves being our pop of color!

We love to add a touch of white birch to an ivory tablescape to mix in texture!

We kept the table tree simple with a string of white lights and mini snowballs.

We added more texture with our natural chargers.

These Santa plates are vintage! Our loving aunt gifted them to us — they are hand painted from 1989! They were the most special touch for Christmas Day!

We used a cream shimmer napkin and added a mini green wreath as a napkin ring!

We love a holiday-inspired butter design! Our meal consisted of a classic pasta dish with pork meatballs, roasted asparagus, bread (made fresh this morning), filet mignon, baked potatoes and more!

And it wouldn’t be Christmas if we didn’t end the night with a crème de menthe parfait!

We hope you all had a wonderful and blessed holiday!

Thanksgiving for Five

Thanksgiving for Five

This Thanksgiving for most of us was unlike any holiday we’ve celebrated before. Less people and smaller portions but still the same amount of thankfulness and gratitude expressed- possibly even more than usual. We shared in our smaller group how grateful we are for one another, how we missed the family and friends we couldn’t spend the day with and most importantly our good health. We called, texted and FaceTimed our family who we missed. We discussed our traditions and talked about how we can’t wait to celebrate together next year. If anything, this year has made us appreciate the most simple things in life. From passing a thanksgiving side dish to laughing about stuffing spilled in the driveway (inside joke…!) we will surely never take for granted another holiday spent with our loved ones around the table.

Our thanksgiving dinner for five was still filled with thanks and amazing food! We made all of our traditional dishes with the exception of the portions being cut in half. Along with our mom we made a delicious turkey served with all of our favorite sides: pasta with marinara sauce, stuffing, cranberries, gravy, mashed potatoes, cornbread casserole and butternut squash. Yum! We set the table very simply with light colored pumpkins, textured charger plates and pretty matching dishes. Keep scrolling below to check out all of our Thanksgiving day details.

We loved a touch of silver on the linen tones with our napkin rings and platter that served as a part of our centerpiece!

We like to serve all our sides in white serving pieces for a classic look! Can’t forget our butter turkey either!

A full plate…had to go back for seconds (and thirds) because it wouldn’t all fit!

Allina and Marreana

Allina and Marreana

Hi everyone! I’m Marreana, also known as Marzi. I graduated college in 2017 where I studied business and law, and just graduated from law school in May. I am currently studying for the Bar and spending my off time with family…mostly cooking, what else! My sister, Allina and I are constantly in contact with each other when we aren’t together — texting, swapping recipes, inspo pics on Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, and more! We bounce ideas off of each other and fuel each other’s creativity and passion for making great dinners, desserts, and even the perfect table-scape. This blog is something we have talked about doing for the better part of a decade. I am so excited to share with you all the things that we love and bring us joy every day! Although I am pursuing a career in law, my other passions have always been fashion, cooking, and party planning. There seemed to be no better time than the present to compile all of our thoughts and ideas for others to enjoy at their leisure. I hope you love this creation as much as we do!

Hi! My name is Allina. I graduated college in 2015 and I studied communications and writing. I since have started my own business as a makeup artist. I am also a wife, to my sweet husband whom I married in June 2019. As I moved into a new home and started my own family, it has only furthered my passion and love for cooking. I also had the pleasure of renovating an entire house, getting to dive deeper into my love for interior design. Getting to decorate this home with my sister and mom was so much fun. We share such similar taste in home decor, that made this a project not just for me, but for all of us!  I also look forward to sharing professional beauty tips, tricks and advice. From how to make your makeup last all day and the best anti-aging secrets, to makeup tips for brides on their big day!
